Why Roadies Battleground Sucks

Roadies Battleground is like Roadies on the Web. People audition online. They do tasks online. And the winner gets a chance to be on the show.

And it SUCKS.

The last time I saw a promising candidate coming out of Roadies was Mohit Malik from RBG 2 who then went a long way in Roadies Season 7.

Before that there was Roop who also showed some promise.

RBG 2 onwards, there've been sh*t candidates. RBG 3 had Vibwhore and RBG 4 had someone I dont even remember the name of. Even the baldie (Raghu) admitted in the last season that they needed to stop conducting the "useless" activity before the commencement of each season.

Now I'll tell you why it sucks.

* It is tougher than actual Roadies
Since you have to shoot the tasks on your own. You have to handle everything. Ranging from the camera angles to the editing etc. Whereas on Roadies, there are producers & cameramen doing the job.

* The tasks are fuddu
Yeah, they are fuddu. I mean I have seen no improvement in the task ideas over the years. They are so rubbish. Eg - Last year there was this task in which you had to get cigarettes out of the mouths of people smoking in public places. The idea is so preachy and so thanda and so not fun.

* No guarantee of being in the show even if you are in the Top 3
Even if you manage to survive all the g*nd ghisai that you do in the tasks and reach the final three, my friend there is no surety that you'll be on the actual show. And this is what has been happening since the last 2 seasons. A deserving candidate and 2 useless candidates get into the finale, and invariably the less deserving one wins and gets into the show. (Last year toh even Battleground ka "winner" was not cast on the show! Lol) Which simply implies that all your effort of one month of participating in the show goes waste.

Now MTV has already announced Roadies Battleground 5, the fifth season of the Internet Show (It gets them Big Money)

Though the roadies crazy janta has considerably decreased over the years, there are still some Roadies fanatics out there who will participate in the ch*tya show. I've just one thing to say to them -

God Save You. If I were you, I'd never participate.

Would you still go for Roadies X ?

Roadies is back with a new season. They call it Roadies X.

As they've been doing with the last couple of seasons, they have launched two video game / TV series / Hollywood inspired promos this year too.

To which they've received insanely awesome responses like -

I've been through all the phases that a wannabe Roadie goes through - Roadies Battleground, the auditions etc. And I failed. Maybe coz I wasnt meant for Roadies. Maybe coz Roadies wasnt meant for me.

I remember during the finale of the Roadies Battleground 3, at one point, I said to myself "Dude, these producers are freaks! How the fukc are you gonna spend 40 days answering their questions on camera like a dog ?!"

Any sensible person wouldnt want to go for Roadies anymore.

Times have changed. Bani was the last celebrity (really? is she one?) that Roadies produced. Does anybody even give a sh*t about what the Roadies 9 winner, Vikas is doing these days?

This is the age of social media. Where everybody is a star. You dont need to go on Roadies to prove your worth/talent. You could do it with the help of twitter/fb/youtube and if you're good, you'd get noticed! (Okay, I dont want to sound immodest, but even I received a mail from an A-list Casting Director saying that he would want to cast me in a movie)

Ya? So you get my drift? Roadies is a sone ki ande dene wali murgi for MTV, Raghu & Co. Both are useless without each other. They don't make Roadies anymore for the love of it. For the passion, for the kick! They make Roadies now so that MTV can capitalize on the Roadies' reach and Raghu can rake in some more moolah for the aid of his retirement benefit plan. Imagine the misfortune of bechare contestants (who still have that passion for the show) sign their lives off to guys like these for 6 months.

So dear wannabe Roadie, instead of wasting the precious 40 days - 6 months of your life,, you should try these options according to your talent -

You're good at politics? Try getting a job and use it at your workplace!
You're good looking? Shift to Mumbai, struggle oR be a model
You're physically fit? Join the army oR go for the Olympics
You're dumb? Well you're already a Roadie, why would you want to suffer so much just for the tag?

Wanna ignore them & still go for Roadies? In that case,

Aap Ch*tye Hain
